![]() ![]() Eka Kurniawan’s novels are in a dissensus position inasmuch as they provide new alternatives that operate as ways to disagree with norms. The results show that the dissensus effort was projected through minor subjects, the distribution of the sensible, and the subject migration of the characters Dewi Ayu, Margio, Ajo Kawir, and O. Data were collected through literature study and then analyzed by detailed reading, classification, interpretation, and data verification. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method by narratively describing the data. The perspective used in this research is the politics of aesthetics initiated by Jacques Rancière, which is related to literary politics. This study describes the dissensus efforts that are present in four of his novels, namely “Cantik itu Luka” (2012), “Lelaki Harimau” (2014a), “Seperti Dendam Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas” (2014), and “O” (2016), through the migration of figures from the power system that binds them. Instead of assuming something conventional, Eka Kurniawan’s titles are considered to break existing social hierarchies. ![]() Dissensus is a scream of disagreement to produce equality. His novels are full of dissensus since they break the standard of existing literary works. Eka Kurniawan is an Indonesian writer who has produced monumental works in world literature, several of which have been translated into various languages. ![]()
